The Stamford & District Bowls League has been promoting inter-club bowling in the local area since 1967. The League itself operates on two evenings a week – Mondays and Fridays. For 2025, we have ?? teams who will compete in three divisions.
As well as the twice-weekly league matches, we run five competitions - the Boor & Wainwright Shield, the Duncomb Shield, the Oddfellows Charity Rosebowl competition, the President’s Triples competition and the Secretary’s Pairs competition. There is also the President's Gala, which supports the President's chosen charity for that year.
In addition to the details of the fixtures and results, you will find profiles of each club, the league's rules and constitution and a short history of the league. There is also a Photo Gallery, a Club News page and an Events Diary; we hope you will let us know about events at your club that would interest other bowlers.

League Dates to Remember for 2025:
Thursday 24th April at 7 pm
Registration evening: at Stamford Indoor Bowls Club.
Please ensure that at least one representative from your club attends this meeting, with team registration list(s) and fees (registration fees £10 per team + £2 per player) plus fees for Boor & Wainwright competition (£10 per team). New Treasurer needed - volunteers please contact Secretary Nina Rawlins or Chairman Charlie Underwood.
Friday 9th May:
Boor & Wainwright competition begins.
Friday 6th June:
Stamford League begins.
Sunday 3rd August:
President's Gala: to be held at Blackstones Bowls Club, start time to be notified.
Monday 4th August:
Stamford League: final scheduled match
PLEASE NOTE: Dates for the Stamford League are PROVISIONAL, depending on the number of teams entering the league. Full schedules will be published as soon as possible after the Registration Evening.
Saturday 30th August:
Boor & Wainwright Shield Final: to be held at Blackstones Bowls Club, starting at 2 pm.
Sunday 31st August:
Duncomb Shield Final: to be held at Bourne Town Bowls Club, starting at 2 pm.
Saturday 6th September:
Rosebowl Competition Final: to be held at Stamford Town Bowls Club, starting at 2 pm.
Sunday 7th September:
Secretary's Pairs Competition Final: to be held at Market Deeping Bowls Club, starting at 2 pm.
President's Triples Competition Final: to be held at Market Deeping Bowls Club, starting at 2 pm.
