Greetham Bowls Club

Greetham Community Centre, Great Lane, Greetham, LE15 7NG

Situated at the Greetham Community Centre in Great Lane, the green was opened in 1984. The Club grew slowly and throughout the 90s the club membership was between 90-100 members. These numbers were unfortunately unsustainable at a club with only one green and 4 rinks. The lack of green time due to the number of members eventually led to a number of players breaking away to start a new club based at Greetham Valley Golf Course. A slow decline at the club saw numbers drop and eventually the club only had enough members to field one team. However, since 2017 the club has started to slowly recover and at present the membership is up to 40-ish.

Our club night is on Wednesdays at 6.00 p.m. We have also this year reinstated the club indoor league. This has proved to be a remarkable success and we are hoping to attract more players for the coming season. The Club is now able to once again field 2 teams in the Stamford & District Bowls League, starting in the 2024 season. The teams are: The Greetham Anglians and The Greetham Poachers; this is in recognition and in support of the Royal Anglian Regiment which is now resident in Kendrew Barracks.

New members will be warmly welcomed.
